The Teams button opens a phone call to the contact’s number in Microsoft Teams. By default it opens Teams on the web; switch on “Open the Teams app directly” to use the desktop app. Teams asks you to confirm before it calls. Calling regular phone numbers needs Teams Phone with a calling plan, Operator Connect or Direct Routing.
For a Dutch contact with the number 020 123 4567, the button opens one of these links. The number always goes out with its country code; the + is written as %2B.

It can, with HubSpot’s own Microsoft Teams app. An admin has to install the admin-level version of that app, map each HubSpot user to their Teams account and tick outbound and inbound calls under Integrations, Connected Apps, Microsoft Teams, Teams Phone. A call then shows up after about 15 minutes on average, at most 60, on the contact, its primary company and its deals. It only logs to contacts that already exist and whose phone or mobile field matches the number exactly, country and area code included (HubSpot Knowledge Base, checked 29 October 2026). The Teams button starts the call; that app does the logging afterwards.
Teams Phone. Microsoft 365 E5 includes it; plans such as Business Basic, Standard, Premium and E3 need the Teams Phone Standard add-on. You also need a way to reach outside numbers: a Microsoft calling plan, Operator Connect from a telecom operator, or Direct Routing (Microsoft Learn, checked 26 October 2026).
The button is free for 10 uses per month, or 100 a month shared by your team once you confirm a company email. Pro is €4.99 per user per tool a month (excl. VAT), or less billed yearly. The calls themselves run through your Teams Phone setup.
